Galaxy Evolution
Gerhardt R. Meurer

My research is in the area of extragalactic astronomy. I am interested in all aspects of galaxy evolution and in particular starbursts and the feedback between star formation and gravity. Some of the topics I have studied in detail are:

SINGG: a Survey for Ionization in Neutral Gas Galaxies
Ultraviolet images of ultraluminous infrared galaxies
Starbursts and dust at high redshift
The ultraviolet anatomy of starbursts
The duration of starbursts
Starburst regulation
HI and dark matter in blue compact dwarf galaxies
Star formation in the dark disk Of NGC2915
NGC1705: a windy blue compact dwarf galaxy
