From Extrasolar Planets to High Redshift Gamma Ray Bursts
Jian Ge
All sky surveys for extrasolar planets and high redshift gamma ray bursts
are enabled by new instruments and instrument technologies developed at
Penn State. These technologies range from a Doppler radial velocity
technique based on dispersed fixed-delay interferometry, high contrast
imaging based on a binary band-limited coronagraph and a coherent Single
Mode Fiber optic Array, high resolution IR spectroscopy with silicon
immersion gratings to 3-D imaging spectroscopy with an advanced image
slicer integral field optics. I will present new results from technology
demonstration and scientific observations.
