Analysing the Large-Scale Structure in the Final 2dF Galaxy Redshift
Survey Catalogue
William Percival
I will start by discussing galaxy clustering observations in the context
of modern cosmology. The talk will then focus on two recent analyses of
the 2dF galaxy redshift survey (2dFGRS) that I have been involved in. I
will discuss the final 2dFGRS team analysis decomposing the distribution
of galaxies in the final survey into Fourier modes (Cole et al. 2005 - to
appear on astro-ph on Tuesday evening). This work will be compared with an
analysis decomposing into Spherical Harmonics (Percival et al. 2004,
astro-ph/0406513; Percival 2004, astro-ph/0410631). Results will also be
compared with those from the SDSS, and the cosmological implications will
be presented.
